What is CCHR Florida?

The Citizens Commission on Human Rights of Florida(CCHR Florida) is a non-profit organization that investigates and exposes psychiatric violations of human rights.

CCHR was co-founded in 1969 by Professor Thomas Szasz, Professor of Psychiatry Emeritus, and the Church of Scientology, dedicated soley to eradicate mental health abuse. It works side-by-side with like-minded groups and individuals who share a common purpose to clean up the field of mental health. There are many non-profit organizations and individuals who are concerned about the harmful practices of psychiatry. These groups and individuals include, Doctors, Ministers, Parents, Family advocacy groups and more. CCHR Florida has over 80 allies from all over the state of Florida and the United States.

While CCHR Florida does not provide medical or legal advice, it works closely with attorneys and medical doctors and supports medical, but not psychiatric, practices.

One of CCHR Florida's primary concerns with psychiatry is its unscientific diagnostic system. Unlike medical diagnosis, psychiatrists categorize symptoms only, not disease. Jeffrey A. Schaler, Ph.D., says, "The notion of scientific validity, though not an act, is related to fraud. Validity refers to the extent to which something represents or measures what it purports to represent or measure. When diagnostic measures do not represent what they purport to represent, we say that the measures lack validity...The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM-IV) published by the American Psychiatric Association is notorious for low scientific validity." (See footnote below)

Understanding this fraudulent diagnostic premise, we can see why psychiatry and psychology, entrusted with billions of dollars to eradicate the problems of the mind, have created and perpetuated them. Their drug "cure-all" causes senseless acts of violence, suicide, irreversible nervous system damage, hallucinations, apathy, irritability, anxiousness, psychosis and death.

No one denies that people can have difficult problems in their lives, that at times they can be mentally unstable. Mental health care is therefore both valid and necessary. However, the emphasis must be on workable mental healing methods that improve and strengthen individuals and thereby society by restoring people to personal strength, ability, competence, confidence, stability, responsibility and spiritual well-being.

Here is an example of one family who called into CCHR Florida's hotline:

Nick’s Story

Nick was doomed for failure. He was on every psychiatric drug someone could stuff down his throat

Without custody of his son, the dad was left with no options, nothing he could do to save this young boy!

Diagnosed with Stress Anxiety Disorder, clinical Depression, thoughts of suicide, Tourette's Syndrome and ADHD, the doctor wanted to start by putting Nick on Prozac, Zoloft, Ritalin, Dexadrine and Klonopin, Nick’s dad was certain that the doctor was the one who needed help. No way was he ever going to agree to put his son on these drugs.

The mom moved the boy out of the State and away from his dad. When Nick’s dad saw him again, months after being on the drugs, his son got out of the car, all dressed in black, his nails were black, his hair was blue-black and his face was so pale white. His eyes were dark and he even had eyeliner around them. Nick was suspended every 3 days, he had "F’s" in every class. "They" said the drugs were helping him.

Nick’s dad called the CCHR Florida hotline and got himself fully informed about the harmful side effects of these drugs, the valid alternatives and more.

He hired a lawyer, got custody of his son and went to find him. Nick was living in a place not suited for any living being, left "cold turkey" off the drugs. He couldn’t even remember his address and phone number.

The dad promised his son to help him through his schooling, even if it meant the dad would come to class with him and sit right by his side. Many months later, this young boy had achieved a success that he and his dad could never have dreamed of.

Nick was awarded with a certificate, from the principal of the school which says " Top Dog presented for outstanding attitude, character and/or making a genuine change for the better and exemplifying the best traits of a student at this school". Signed by his teacher and the school principal!

This year, as Nick turns 17, he has been moved to the Honors class for his brilliance as a student!

This success comes from the strong will of his dad to save his son’s life and from being fully educated on his rights!

If you are in a different state, we are more than glad to refer you to a CCHR chapter in your area.

Feel free to call at anytime.

Loren Mosher, M.D., Clinical Professor of Psychiatry: DSM-IV is the fabrication upon which psychiatry seeks acceptance by medicine in general. Insiders know it is more a political than scientific document... DSM-IV has become a bible and a money making best seller... It confines and defines practice, some take it seriously, others more realistically. )
