Citizens Commission on Human Rights of Florida: Investigating and exposing violations of human rights in the field of mental health.
If you live in the greater Clearwater Florida area, you have probably heard of the Citizens Commission on Human Rights. CCHR was founded by the Church of Scientology and eminent Psychiatrist Dr. Thomas Szasz in 1969 to investigate and expose psychiatric violations of human rights, CCHR has fought tirelessly over it’s 28-years to expose the insidious psychiatric crimes being perpetrated on the public in the name of “help.”
Locally, the CCHR Florida chapter has been demonstrating its commitment to this cause and our greater community by educating not only individuals, but also our lawmakers as to the flagrant and widespread violations affecting our people.
They were instrumental in passing a statute that prevents mandatory drugging of children as a requisite to school attendance. The Florida Statute, Title XLVII, Chapter 1006.0625 states " A public school may not deny any student access to programs or services because the parent of the student has refused to place the student on psychotropic medication. A public school teacher and school district personnel may share school-based observations of a student's academic, functional, and behavioral performance with the student's parent and offer program options and other assistance that is available to the parent and the student based on the observations. However, a public school teacher and school district personnel may not compel or attempt to compel any specific actions by the parent or require that a student take medication. A parent may refuse psychological screening of the student.
Any medical decision made to address a student's needs is a matter between the student, the student's parent, and a competent health care professional chosen by the parent. "
CCHR Florida gets many calls from parents who are concerned about their rights, who want more information, and this Florida Statute makes a big difference. When they read this and understand it, they are empowered with the knowledge and confidence to go to their child's school and ensure their rights are upheld. There are so many solutions available to parents to help them with whatever their child may be encountering in school, that do not include mind-altering, harmful, psychiatric drugs, or intrusive, unfounded mental health questionnaires.
CCHR Florida's team educates the public as to the fact that there are no medical tests, brain scans, blood tests, chemical imbalance tests that can be done to prove any of the "mental health disorders" actually exist. We inform people that there are many renown doctors who have medical tests that can be done to show that physical ailments, such as nutritional deficiencies and allergies, as well as other physical causes, can be the cause of any unwanted "mental health" symptoms. This information, alone, makes a huge difference to those who are concerned by the false information that they receive from psychiatrists who tell them they or their child has some sort of mental health "disorder".
CCHR Florida works with allied groups and individuals to call attention to the basic human right, "informed consent". Individuals do have the legal and moral right to be fully informed about the harmful effects of psychiatric drugs and the alternatives available to them. Our office works side by side with other grass-root groups, such as Results Project, Able-Child, etc. as well as individuals who are expert in the area of medicine and alternative health. As a united team, towards the purpose of protecting individuals' rights, we work towards gaining legislative and media attention to this issue. Many expert spokespeople have been invited to speak on radio, weekly, and continue to educate individuals and families about their right to decide with full information made available to them.
