The Psychiatric - Pharma Cover Up
On June 30, 2006, the Alaska Supreme Court recognized that psychiatric drugs should not be easily forced on someone, stating: “Psychotropic drugs ‘affect the mind, behavior, intellectual functions, perception, moods, and emotion’ and are known to cause a number of potentially devastating side effects….” Further, “Given the nature and potentially devastating impact of psychotropic medications…we now similarly hold that the right to refuse to take psychotropic drugs is fundamental.”
Psychiatry’s “Billing Bible”
The profitability of psychiatry “medicalizing” behaviors and emotions can be traced to the vested interests of psychiatrists who profit from inventing and categorizing new mental disorders. A 2006 study in the journal Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics found a majority (56%) of the panel members responsible for revisions to the DSM had one or more financial ties to drug companies. The study also found that 100% of the panel members on “Mood Disorders” and “Schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders” had financial ties to pharmaceutical companies. The lead author of this study, Lisa Cosgrove of the University of Massachusetts Boston stated, “No blood tests exist for the disorders in the DSM. It relies on judgments from practitioners who rely on the manual.”
Silent Killers in Nursing Homes
A new study released in the UK found anti psychotics linked to a significant increase in the mortality rate of the elderly. The study, funded by the UK’s Alzheimer's Research Trust, found only one-third of the patients taking anti psychotics were still alive after three years, compared with two-thirds of the patients taking a placebo. It also found that anti psychotics, used to sedate and control the elderly, were associated with a significant deterioration in mental functioning and in speech motor controls. In the U.S., despite the Food and Drug Administration-ordered black box warning about the fatal risks of anti psychotics for the elderly, seniors in nursing homes are routinely prescribed these deadly drugs.
Michael Moore Calls for Federal Investigation

"The Eli Lilly Corp., pharmaceutical company, for nearly 15 years covered up their own internal investigation that showed that anyone on Prozac is 12 times more likely to attempt suicide than those using other antidepressants that is 12 times more than the average population. That’s 12 times more than those already on the other antidepressants this is a criminal act. And I want to know why these criminals are still walking the streets."
Anna Nicole Smith’s Psychiatrist Under Investigation
Eroshevich prescribed Smith eleven drugs, including anti psychotics, anti-anxiety drugs and sedatives—a lethal combination which killed 39-year-old Smith. According to media reports, Eroshevich is now under investigation by the California Medical Board.
Some national media have already started to target Eroshevich, referring to her as a drug “pusher” and “supplier”—questioning whether her medical license will be revoked for facilitating and enabling Smith’s death. CCHR goes further by saying she should be criminally investigated and prosecuted as warranted.
Experts Debunk DSM
The scientific validity of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) has come under increasing attack from medical professionals and scientific experts such as Herb Kutchins of California State University and Stuart A. Kirk of UCLA, who found that “…there is ample reason to conclude that the latest versions of DSM as a clinical tool are unreliable and therefore of questionable validity as a classification system.”
