CCHR Florida does not give medical advice.Upon request, CCHR Florida provides those who call our hotline with a list of doctors, complimentary (alternative) and other healthcare websites from which people can choose to seek help without the threat of being prescribed potentially dangerous psychiatric drugs or other “treatments.
Article 3 of CCHR’s Mental Health Declaration of Human Rights—written in 1969 when CCHR was formed—says that all persons should have “the right to a thorough, physical and clinical examination by a competent registered general practitioner of one’s choice, to ensure that one’s mental condition is not caused by any undetected and untreated physical illness, injury or defect, and the right to seek a second medical opinion of one’s choice.”
One of CCHR’s primary concerns with psychiatry is its unscientific diagnostic system. Unlike medical diagnoses, psychiatrists categorize symptoms only; they cannot confirm their diagnosis with any blood test, x-ray or physical test. “Mental disorders” are not physical diseases with a known cause or cure. The diagnoses are not based on science.
