Therapist Billed Insurer for Sex, Patient Says

A woman claims her psychologist had sex with her in his office while treating her for depression, “on a weekly, and at times, a daily frequency,” and had the brass to bill her insurance company for the “treatments.” And she says he “committed further acts of professional malpractice by voluntarily ingesting plaintiff’s psychotropic medications during their sexual encounters to ‘enhance’ his sexual gratification with plaintiff.”  (more…)

Tampa Psychologist Suspended Over Sex Allegation by Lakeland Woman

A Tampa psychologist accused of having sex with a Lakeland woman he counseled and billing her insurance company for “specialty consult” sessions when those trysts are suspected to have occurred has had his license suspended by the state.

 

Daniel R. Lerom also is accused of repeatedly asking for, and getting, prescription pain medicines from the woman.

It’s a felony for a psychotherapist to commit sexual misconduct with a client or with a former client… (more…)
